How to get help.
Squawk is made by a small team at Jamison Tech LLC. Email reaches a person.
squawk@jamisontech.comDelete your account
You do not need to ask us, and there is no waiting period. In the app: Settings → Manage account → Danger zone → Burn. It asks for your PIN, then destroys the account and every server record tied to it — the account record, your encrypted backup blob, your device sessions, and any messages still queued for you — and wipes Squawk’s data from your device. It cannot be undone, including by us.
What Burn does not reach. Anything you emailed us stays in our mailbox as ordinary correspondence: feedback for as long as it takes to settle the matter, and reports about another user for longer, because a pattern of reports is the only way we can see misuse of the reporting system itself. Retention for everything else is listed in the Privacy Policy.
Report someone
In the app: Settings → Help → Send feedback, then choose Report a user. Pick the contact, tick what applies, and tell us what happened. Reports involving the safety of a child are flagged and read first. You can also stop someone reaching you at any time by removing them as a contact — that takes effect on your device immediately.
You forgot your PIN
We cannot recover your contacts, and that is by design: they are encrypted with a key derived from your PIN that never leaves your phone, so we hold ciphertext we have no way to open. If you are still signed in on a device, your data is intact there — set a new PIN from Edit profile → Change PIN while you still have access. If you are locked out, email us from your account address and we will clear the account for you so you can sign up fresh. Your contact list is gone either way, but the address will not stay stranded.
Report an accessibility barrier
Email us with the screen, what you were trying to do, and the assistive technology you use. We treat accessibility reports as bugs, not suggestions. See the Accessibility Statement for current conformance and known limitations.
Bug reports and feature requests
In the app: Settings → Help → Send feedback. It attaches your app version and platform so we do not have to ask, and it tells you it is doing so. Replies go to your account email address.
Your data rights
To request access, correction, restriction, portability, or erasure of your data, email squawk@jamisontech.com from the address on your Squawk account. We verify it is you by sending a code to that address — handing your data to someone impersonating you would itself be a breach. We respond within 30 days, and there is no charge for a reasonable request.
Worth knowing before you ask: an access request produces a short document. It has your email address, account timestamps, subscription tier, public identity key, and device-session list. It will not contain your contacts, locations, beacons, notes, or profile — not because we decline, but because those exist only on your device. The full explanation is in the Privacy Policy.
